Hello guys! I'm working on my algebra homework and am stuck on this one part of this problem.
Im working on solving Hyperbolas and im trying to find what is c.
a=-4 b=2
C2=A2+B2 the two's behind the numbers are suppose to mean their squared not twos.
C2= 16+4
C2 = 20
I know I need to break it down more than that but i'm not sure what to do now please help!

C^2 = 20 U needed to find one C not C^2 so, the power of 2 is changed to square root C = square root of 20

In terms of x that means: 2x + 3 = Paul's age. Now we have the sum of their ages is 33, so we should have: x + (2x) + (2x + 3) = 33 Then we get: 5x = 30 x=6 Which means Mark is 6 years old, Oscar is 2 * 6 = 12 years old and Paul is 2*6 + 3 = 12 + 3 = 15 years old. i think you just need to square root c, so c= √(4*5)= √((2)2*5)= 2√5 = 4.4721... if you want the exact number. Note: √((2)2*5) the second number two is the square
