Question: Im going to be a freshman in the fall and I'm kind of freaking out. I want to focus on my studies in hopes of going to an Ivy League school. But, I also don't want to be a geek or loser. Middle school was pretty rough and I have lost contact already with almost everyone from my school, and no one from my school is going to the high school I'm going to. Here are my questions: 1.) How do I make friends on the first day of school. Everyone already knows eachother because they went to middle school together, and I'm afraid I wont have anyone at lunch to sit with. I do know a few sophomores and juniors that are close family friends, perhaps I could sit with them? 2.) How do I act that will make people like me. Like what attitude and disposition should I have? 3.) Im in all honors classes, how hard are they? Am I going to struggle? 4.) How much homework is there? 5.) I have a kind of unique style, its not too bold and "out there" but its cute and sophisticated a little vintage and not how most students my age dress. Will I be shunned and looked down upon for uniqueness? 6.) What do guys like in a girl? 7.) How do I not let jealousy get to me? Im not necessarily ugly but there are prettier girls than me and they are popular and they have so many guys and girls all around them like they're royalty and it does make me jealous. 8.) Have any experience and tips about Ivy League Colleges? 9.) Any other tips:) Thanks! xoxo

1. On the first day of high school for me, I knew no one in all four of my classes. However, some people came to me, and I came to speak with others. If people won't come to you, you go to them. If you guys get seating arrangements first day, tell your partner about how you're nervous and ask them what classes they have, etc. Or if you see someone in the hall from your previous class say a friendly hello, or ask them if you could have lunch with them. It'll be easy to make friends - that should be the least of your worries. Don't think too much about it, trust me, I did, but in the end I realized that I shouldn't have because I had made tons of friends. 2. There is certainly no specific way to act. From what I noticed, people are just relaxed, and don't seem nervous. Be comfortable, and have some confidence. Laugh at the jokes they make, smile, be friendly. Just be yourself to be honest. I'm a quiet and not too quiet person when I want to be. I made friends with loud, crazy people - totally opposite from me. I also made friends with people who were similar to me. :) 3. You are not going to struggle. You'll most likely get homework every day. Sometimes you can finish them in class, or during lunch...However, sometimes you can't. It's easy though - if you listen to the teacher, copy the notes, ask questions, you know the basic stuff, you'll find it a breeze. True stuff right there. 4. As I said, you most likely will have homework every day, but it'll be easy if you understand it and all. Once in a while, you could gather a couple of friends and have a little study group with them. 5. Nope, in fact you'll get tons of compliments. I had and still have friends with all types of different, exotic styles. One of my friend is all about vintage clothing. She looks amazing in it, especially because it suits her personality. Another one of my friend mixes and matches colors and shapes - she'll wear a funky headband, with a colorful jacket, etc. It's really cool. Others will wear tomboy like, or the usual - tights, with a stylish top, and all that. Wear what you feel comofortable and pretty in. 6. There are all different types of guys that will like different types of girls. This one guy that sat beside me liked this girl in my class that was shy and quiet in class, but also flirty and always said hi and spoke to him from time to time. Another guy liked a girl who was loud and crazy, but yet still sophisticated....in a way. Honestly, if you feel confident about yourself, then don't change yourself just because of a guy. This guy liked me, and I had no idea. I didn't know how to flirt or whatever, but apparently to my friends, I was flirting back with him...Sometimes you'll catch yourself flirting with a guy without realizing it, or intending it. It's funny actually. :P 7. Pft, don't get jealous of them. What's there to be jealous of? You are just like them. Pretty, has friends, etc. There's nothing special about them. And if they feel as if they are in some higher class than you, then they obviously are obnoxious, self-centered people that you should be happy about not being their friends. Why would you want to be friends with someone who doesn't like you for you? As long as you have true, great friends, you'll be fine. It's not about popularity in high school. Have fun as much as possible, and don't let them get to you. In fact, some "popular" girls/ boys are nice. I honestly don't believe in the term "popular," everyone's equally the same. 8. No, sorry. But for any college that you want to apply to, do some research about it on Google or something like that. Take the classes that you need to take in order to get in that college. Get the grades you need or higher. Aim for the best that you can do. Try all the time - it's worth it. 9. Try out for some school activities/sports. It's a GREAT way to meet new people, not only in your grade, but other grades as well. Bond with your teachers too, as in the future, it will come handy. For example: let's say you want them to write a letter about you for one of your colleges, or you need them to bump up your grade by a percent or more. Don't be shy, there's no reason to be, everyone's nervous the first day, but just show that you are excited to be there, and start anew. You're going into a high school where you won't know people in your grade - you're lucky. You can start fresh and new...Do you know how many people would like to have the chance that you have? Many - trust me! Make the most of your high school years - take pics/vids, and just have a blast! :D Good luck and have fun on your first day!!

i was a C and B student in high school and now am 2 semesters away from completing my psychology degree with a 3.5 in college. it's all about applying yourself; in highschool i didn't really care so i never did my homework and therefore got C's. In college i just buckled down, got into a rhythm and pattern of studying hard on the weeks and having fun on the weekends and i did fine. Also in college you don't really have much useless home work like you recieve in high school. it's more just lots of reading, studying, doing well on tests (midterm and final) and writing a lot of papers. , if you want to get a psychology degree you can do it as long as your motivated an apply yourself

Yes you can become a psychologist. College requires perseverance. You don't need to be a great student to get a college degree. You need to study hard and if you earn average grades, then you will get a college degree, and can even go on for more advanced degrees. Yes you can bloom, but what will probably happen is that your study habits will change, as well as your maturity, and those will assist you in getting through college. The better the college that you go to, may mean that you earn a higher salary. So Ivy league graduates earn more than regular college graduates and have an easier time landing a better job. More often they tend to be managerial types of roles, or will follow along that path n They are often promoted faster as well. Again not every situation is like this. Generally, Community College graduates often have to work their way up, and will start at lower salaries. Yahoo had printed a study on the impact of a better college institution and future careers of students. There are many Human Resource studies on this phenomenon. Keep in mind that your grades determine what type of college that you attend. So with that said, yes you can be a psychologist, but you may not make as much as an ivy league graduate or a person who has a degree from an institution that is considered "higher" than the one that you attended.

1. you'll meet people in class . be nice & just smile . something will spark conversation or you may meet someone who's as shy as you & you'll bond because of that . don't worry too much . if you don't make friends day one, sit with the people you already do know . 2. act friendly . DO NOT act like you know everything & don't be caddy . 3. i'm in all honors & AP classes & it's a lot more work than normal classes but it's worth it . you really have to study . 4. depends on the class & teacher . usually you have homework every night . 5. some girls dress the same way . some are very girly . some are tomboys . just wear what you want . 6. honestly, many guys just want to get in your pants . don't worry about guys . you'll meet one that likes you for you . 7. don't pay attention to them . at all . 8. it's hard ! just take the classes that school you want to get into requires & do way above average . be the best .

Even even though I'm a man I can lay out a few matters that would support and btw I'm going to be a junior this yr. There are plenty of women in top college that supply in to the whole lot. Don't be like plenty of the ones little whores. Also do not move and drink or smoke when you consider that such a lot of different persons do it. There's plenty of peer stress and do not supply in to it. Just keep in mind that each and every drink you're taking or each time you smoke you'll be able to be slicing your existence even shorter. Just awareness on maintaining your grades up and do not fear approximately the whole lot or what any person else thinks approximately you. Also check out to not over whelm your self. Just chill out and experience your self when you consider that up to now for me, freshman yr used to be the simplest.
