Question: i need help with these 5 problems pls 6) Theresa is 5 times as old as Kating. In 10 years Theresa will be 3 times as old as kating. Find the age of each 7) Jun's age is 2 years more than twice Robert's age, and the sum of their ages will be 32. How old is each? 8) Monia is 5 years older than Obin. 6 years from now, the sum of their ages will be 37. Find the age of each 9) A father is 5 years more than 6 times his son's age. In 5 years, he will be 4 times his son's age then. Find the age of each. 10) Ana is 6 years holder than Bella. When they compared their ages they found that 3 years from now, the sum of their ages will be 46. How old is each?

Solve for x? E) 15-(x-6)=6-(3x+5) First some rules. The ORDER OF OPERATIONS: When expressions have more than one operation, we have to follow rules for the order of operations: First do all operations that lie inside parentheses. Next, do any work with exponents or radicals. Working from left to right, do all multiplication and division. Finally, working from left to right, do all addition and subtraction. Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally" = Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition and Subtraction. So, let's tackle E) 15-(x-6)=6-(3x+5) Following the rules on order of operation we would eliminate the parentheses first 15 - (x - 6) = 6 - (3x+5) becomes: 15-x+6 = 6 -3x -5 I assume you know that there is an unwritten 1 in front of each parentheses. I also assume you know a negative times a negative = a positive and a postive times a negative = a negative. Now we have, 15 - x + 6 = 6 - 3x - 5 We want all variables, here x's, on the same side--the left hand side of the equation. We do that by adding +3x to BOTH sides, because what we do to one side of the equation we do to both in order to keep the balance. 15 -x +3x +6 = 6 -3x+3x-5 15 +2x +6 = 6 -5 Now simple addition 15+6 +2x = 6 + (-5) 21 +2x = 1 To get the x variable alone on the left we add a minus 21 to BOTH sides 21 + (-21) +2x = 1 + (-21) leaving 2x = -20 to get a single x divide through by two, BOTH sides 2x / 2 = -20 /2 x= -10. For most of the problems, don't forget the negative in front of the ( ...) changes the value of a negative to a positive and a positive to a negative, also don't forget the value with the negative number as you distribute it. I hope this helps. The difference in there ages changes by 2x (5x to 3x) this change happens in 10 years so each x is worth 5 years(10 years/2) so theresa= 5(5)=25 leaving Kating at 5 they could also be 50 and 10 7.Jun is 22 Robert is 10 since jun is two years more subtract 2 from the sum of their ages(32-2=30) since jun is 2 times robertos age and roberto is obviously 1 times his age.(2+1=3) you divide 30 by 3 giving you 10 so roberto is 10 now you need to multiply 10 by 2 and add 2 in order to get jun's age. (10*2+2=22 8.Monia is 25 Obin is 20 since 6 years from now the sum of their ages will be 37 they will have both become 6 years older so you can subtract 12 from 37 to get the sum of their ages now 25 since monia is 5 years older subtract 5 from 25=20 divide 20 by 2=10 obin is 10 add 5 to 10=15 monia is 15 9.Father is 35 son is 5 i just used trial and error on this one 10. ana is 23 bella is 17 46-6 (6 because 3 years from now they will both have gained a total of 6 years)=40 40=total age today 40-6(6 because ana is 6 years older)=34 34/2(2 because there is two of them)=17 so bella is 17 17+6=23 ana is 23 hahah yeah i went back to show my work and i got the second one wrong. haha i figured it out while i was trying to explain it. but i agree these are funn :D

6) let x = katings age, let y = theresas age 5x = y (10+y) = 3(10+x) -this should make it easier for you!!! note, their ages have to be in the 5 times table, other wise it wont work!!! 7) let juns age = x and let robers age = y 2+2x=y x+y=32 x+(2+2x)=32 3x+2=32 3x=30 x=10 2+2x=y 2+2(10)=y 22=y juns age = 22, roberts age = 10 10) bella is 17 and Ana is 23, because, if in 3 years the sum of their ages is 26, and ana is 6 years older than bella, then in 3 years time bella will be 20, and ana will be 26 = 46
