I am not motivated to really do anything anymore? Topic: I am not motivated to really do anything anymore?

Question: I'll go to school and listen, and learn, but as soon as I get home, all I want to do is sleep. I hardly ever finish homework assignments, most of the time I don't even start them. I procrastinate as well. I keep telling mysel to do the homework and I'll get good grades, but a part of me gave up already and is saying "why bother?" I'm so stressed, and I don't know how to get my motivation and strength back to do what I used to. I just have no energy, but a ton of time.. I need to clean my room, catch up on homework, do some chores, look for a job, finish my extracurriculars, and I just don't think I can do all of this stuff.. Everyone's like "oh it's not that much" but in my eyes I see like.. Climbing Mount Everest, then having to write the new constitution for the USA. It's not all that big, but that's how it feels.. I don't know how to shake this off of me?? Help!

Boys Town... Your Answer: We are sorry to hear that you are struggling at this time. Based on what you shared it sounds like you are might be dealing with depression. The good news is that depression can be treated in a healthy way with medication (if needed) and counseling. The best advice we can give you is to schedule an appointment with your primary care physician. Now a day’s doctors can prescribe anti-depressants (if needed). We also encourage you to schedule an appointment with a counselor. Please keep in mind that you will not have to take medication (if needed) or go to counseling for the rest of your life. You will only need to go until you are feeling better. Please keep in mind that although life is full of struggles and can be overwhelming at times, as individual's we have to do things to take care of ourselves in a healthy way. What we mean by this is using our coping skills. Do things that make you feel good about yourself and that you enjoy. Some positive coping skills we suggest trying are talking with someone you trust, exercising, reading, listening to music, journaling, and watching TV or a movie. Using your coping skills will take your mind off what you are going through. Feelings don't just go away, you may be able to ignore them or push them down but sooner or later they will surface. OMG SAME HERE!!!!!! #lazybuds! okay so in all reality you need to get up in the morning and go downstairs eat breakfast and then take a nice shower. Showers will wake yourself up and make you feel more motivated. I like to go onto pinterest or Diy and look for fun stuff to do. Maybe since you like music then you could sing covers and edit them and pretend youre famous. (Actually really fun!) If you want to start reading have an adult take you to the local library and pick out a good looking book and pop a squat in one of the comfy chairs and tell them you'll text them when youre done reading! Its a good idea I've done it. Also, you could help pronounce words by reading to yourself aloud or sing along to music out loud! Just some tips. If youre bored online try a website called Quotev.com (really fun for everyone!)

I'm in the same situation as you. I don't even finish my homework lately because I'm so unmotivated. I started joining school clubs just to force myself to do something, but ughhh I know how you feel. Try to take up a hobby, if you're exercising, then go to the gym more, maybe you can invite some buddies :-)

Yeah SAME! University, loans with riba(unlawful interest..feel guilty because this is wrong in my religion so am considering to stop it), assignments, have to look a Job for the first time in my life to pay all that back, have a short time till summer, rented rooms/campus, what to do? what is my priority? Too much to think about that it drains out all your energy and all of this becomes sooo stressful that you want to sleep most of the day or wish that you were a baby/child again being taken care of so the stress is lift off your shoulders. But what we both need to find out is to know our priority in life and focus on that priority. My priority is my beliefs! Basically doing my best and avoiding all the wrong engagements. So you don't have to be perfect, you don't have to complete all your homework in order for you to be happy but you have to strive to do all of them to show who you are and if getting a Job seems like a challenge to you or seems like a risk well it is up to you really if you think you NEED to get one. If you NEED to for the sake of survival go ahead!! Education is always here whenever you want. So don't give in. Stop sleeping in the day and do your best in the day and sleep only in the night. Try as much as you can. That's my best advice.

I think you are overwhelmed, and depressed because of it. Take some time for yourself..get some sleep, do something that you enjoy.
