For 1-4, the third number from the right is the hundreds place, so you will use the second digit from the right as a reference. I will explain number one, so I hope you get it. 1. 400 354 is in between 400 and 300, but it is closer to 400 than it is to 300. It is 54 more than 300, and 46 less than 400. 46 is less than 54, so it is closer to 400. 2. 200 We can refer to the second digit, 8 is greater than 5, so 183 is closer to 200 than it is to 100. 3. 8,100 2 is less than 5, so 8,128 is closer to 8,100 than it is to 8,200. 4. 4,400 9 is much bigger than 5, so 4,391 is really close to 4,400, and quite far from 4,300. 5. 3,000 3,018 is just a little more than 3,000, so you can safely round it to 3000. 6. 7,000 9 > 5 so you round up 7. 77,000 9 > 5 so you round up 8. 13,000 8 > 5 so you round up. 9. 4,518,900,000 0 < 5 so you round down 10. 770,100,000 4 < 5 so you round down 11. 2,057,900,000 3 < 5 so you round down 12. 765,100,000 4 < 5 so you round down

Did you like the answer? Since the symbol is "Ar" it seems a pirate would make a good theme for your poster. For content, check on Wikipedia -- their page has lots of good poster type information.

When referring to the hundreds place, they mean to round, based on the third digit from the right. If it was 354, you would round to 400, because the 5 next to the 3 means you run up. If the number was 7,354 and they asked you again to round to the hundreds place, it's 7,400. Everything to the left of the place you're rounding to stays the same. Everything to the right turns to 0. round to the hundreds place. 1. 354: 400 2. 183: 200 3. 8,128: 8,100 4. 4,391: 4,400 round to the nearest thousands place... 5. 3,018: 3,018 6.6,931: 7,000 7.76,903: 77,000 8.12,843: 13,000 round to the hundred thousands place. 9. 4,518,905,678: 4,518,900,000 10. 770,143,265: 770,100,000 11. 2,051,938,767: 2,051,900,000 12. 765,143,088: 765,100,000

1. 400 (354 is higher than 350, so you round up). 2. 200 3. 8100 4. 4400 5 3,000 6. 7,000 7. 77,000 8 13,000 I did these for you just to show how it's done. It's not really hard at all, so long as you know which place is the hundreds, thousands, etc. 9. 4,518,900,000 I'll leave the rest for you.

This is why tests are given in school. This is no worse than students getting tutors to help with their homework, and much more affordable for many american families. Yes, some are cheating, but many are really learning what they didn't pick up sitting at the back of a class full of 45 other noisy kids.
