Question: I know that in a research paper, citations must be made for sources. Also, in a DBQ (Document Based Essay), outside information must be cited. So in a research paper, must you cite information that you already knew?

No. On a research project there is no need to site information that you already knew before on the topic. If you saw it in a book or on a internet site you need to cite it tho.

In general you always cite things even if you "know" them unless it is generally accepted knowledge . This mainly to show where you got your assumptions and perhaps even methodology for your conclusions and allows those who may build or contest your work a focus.

you need to cite everything that isnt considered common sense to everyone. however, if your taking someone else's idea you can paraphrase it and reword it into your own words and not have to cite it. but in general, if your taking outside knowledge that is common sense to you, you need to cite it unless its common sense to most people

If what you already knew is elementary wisdom, no. yet while it turns up on your analyze, it may well be referred to. That way the reader is acquainted with which you easily did the analyze... it truly is why that is referred to as a "analyze paper".

How about how it impacts the culture? Maybe talk about the impact it has had on some of the player's lives. Some players have managed to give themselves and their families a future with the game of football. You must also be balanced and show the negative such as injuries that can last long after the game, such as brain injuries. I did a paper on the NFL and actually enjoyed the process. Good luck.
