Go to a local horse rescue and volunteer even if it's just once a weekend for a couple hours. You'll traditionally begin by cleaning stalls but the longer you go there, the more trust they'll give you and you'll start to groom and learn about them. You'll also learn about illnesses and saying goodbye if you volunteer at a rescue. It's alot of hard work to own a horse to make sure that the place you have is sufficient and the horse itself is ok to ride because alot of them out there cannnot be ridden but still need a loving home. I started out at rescue when was 12, now I'm 18 and have my own horse that I've brought with me to college and he's the love of my life. Depending on how old you are you may also grow out of horses and boys will become more interesting, I don't say this in a mean way it's just part of life. But good luck in your future endevors! You can also use the internet to learn about breeds and peices of equipment.

Go into a tack store and ask for area barns that provide lessons. Word of mouth is huge in the horse world. I would ask around and start to take some lessons. A proper foundation is important, and your instructor can answer any further questions you have.

You should begin with weekly lessons and ride for quite some time before you ever consider owning a horse.

Save up some money and get lessons at a riding school. We couldn't even scratch the surface for you on here. It's best if you get lessons and get taught things "hands on".

December 7 , 1941 " a day that will live in infamy . Let me see if I can help you being a vet , having been there and seen the battlefield, and having been a history teacher for 21 years . I will humbly try to answer the questions to your satisfaction . On the morning of Dec. 7 , 1941 Pearl Harbor had almost the entire eastern fleet in port . It was a lazy day and no one expected a thing . The US Navy spotted the Japanese bombers on radar when they were 50 - 100 miles out and since radar was so new the Officer on duty told them it had to be a flock of birds so turn it off . that flock of birds turned out to be squadrons of Japanese bombers that were loaded to the gills to attack our airbase and our port . While the planes attacked from the air , there were allso two small submarines that got inside the harbor and were torpedoing boats to keep them from getting out . we were caught completely unprepared and few airplanes made it off the ground and only one if any ships made it out . the attack crippled the American fleet . Casualties were many , women , children , and servicemen . The base itself was a total disaster with little left to protect itself with . The battle was considered a huge success to the Japanese at first , but it turned out to be the turning point in WWII . When the Emperor of Japan heard of the success of the island raid , he just hung his head and said " We have awakened a sleeping giant" He said that because at the time the US was not involved with the war , but the emperor knew that now we would be and in a big way. So initially it was a success to keep America down for awhile , but in the end it was a huge failure because when the US became involved in the war . It only took two more years to end the war . Pretty much have already told you , their plan , how they pulled it off , the only thing that was really ironic is just recently before the attack the US had sent Japan a large large supply of scrap metal which they delivered back to us in the form of bombs . The battle was cause because the Japanese forces felt if they could do major damage to the American forces , it would keep them out of the war completely so they started hatching a plan to do just that and when they found out about most of the fleet being in one place , they began to put their plan into place . In fact the US intercepted a message about the attack about a year before it happened but blew it off , because they figured no one had enough courage to attack us .
