Topic: Maths homework gradients help?**Question:**
It's for HW, and I forgot how to do them.
I got a few questions here, please answer them and then tell me how you worked it out.
Question 1. Find the gradient of the line passing through:
a. (-4, 1) and (-2, -4)
b. (6, -6), and (-1, 3)
c (8, -2) and (-5, 2)
Question 2. Write the following equations in the form y = mx_b, hence find the gradient (m) and y-intercept (c) of each one.
a. 2x - y +3 = 0
b. 4x + 2y - 6 = 0
c. 3x - 3y + 2 = 0
Question 3. Find the equation of a straight line with:
a. a gradient of 3 and passing through the point (4, 3)
b. a gradient of -2 and passing through the point (2, 7)
c. a gradient of 5 and passing through the point (-3, 5)
Question 4. Find the equation of the straight line which passes through the points:
a. (2,1) and (5,7)
b. (1,3) and (4,-3)
c. (4,-8) and (0, 8)
P.S I really need you to show me the working out! THX
I'm 13 years old and this is in my maths tuition homework.
thx for the answers but i still don't understand how to work it out! u guys just but up numbers but never wrote wtf you were doing >.<...
I understand question 1 and question 2 now, pls explain the others instead :)
i will give the best answer to whoever puts in what they're doing in their working out and correct answer (i already have the answers becus thers a answer sheet on the back but i don't know how to work it out myself)

i am solving one solve the others similarly 1 . find all the gradient by using the formula y-y1/x-x1 a.(-4,1) &(-2,-4) here, -4=x,1=y & -2=x1,-4=y1 now by putting the values in the formula we get, m(gradient)=1-(-4)/-4-(-2) =5/-2=-5/2 2 . a} 2x-y+3=0 =y=2x+3 m=2,y-intercept=3 3 . a} m=y-y1/x-x1, 4=x1 , 3=y1 therefore, y-3/x-4=3 y-3=3x-12 y=3x-9 4 . a} solve it by the formula:y-y1/x-x1=y1-y2/x1-x2 here,x1=2,y1=1 & x2=5,y2=7 now putting them in the formula we get, y-1/x-2=1-7/2-5 y-1/x-2= -6/-3 y-1/x-2=2 y-1=2x-4 y=2x-3
